RESULTS
Objective 1
-  Only a    272 frame    Time Lapse,    over    1 hour    was achieved.
Objective 2
-   Recording before, during and after sunset was achieved.
The angle used, captured indirect light from the direction of the sunset.

Observations
-  With only    272 frames    recorded -
The camera appears to be taking longer to record a frame, when the light becomes too dim.
Possibly the shutter speed is becoming slower, in order to obtain enough light for the
frame, and this is over-reaching and over-riding the    10 sec    time interval.
Possibly also, the camera is staying within the overall time limit set, which was    1 hour.
-  There is obvious, continuous, slight, in and out change of focus.
The breeze at ground level was minimal, so I would suppose that the camera is having some
trouble re-focusing as the light becomes less.
-  There are some noticeable jumps in the intensity of light captured, from lighter to darker,
so that the change is not smooth.
This could be the aperture adjusting in big increments, instead of several smaller
    unnoticeable ones.
-  The quality of light captured is quite good.

-  With only    364 frames    recorded -
The camera appears to be taking longer to record a frame, when the light is too dim.
Possibly the shutter speed is slower, in order to obtain enough light for the frame,

Possibly also, the camera is staying within the overall time limit set, which was

The breeze at ground level was minimal, so I would suppose that the camera is having                some trouble re-focusing to the changes, when the light is dim.
-  There are a couple of big jumps in the intensity of light captured, from darker to lighter, so
that the change is not smooth.
This could be the aperture adjusting in one big increment, instead of several smaller
    unnoticeable ones.
-  The quality of light captured, is quite good.

OVERALL

Unchangiing light conditions    -    “Air Flow    (5fps)”
This camera can cope with unchanging daylight conditions, well.
Such that, the Time Lapse produced is smooth, and of good quality.

Decreasing, indirect light conditions    -    “Evening Glow    (5fps)”
This camera seems to have some difficulty adjusting to the change in focus and light intensity, as light conditions decrease.
Such that, the Time Lapse produced is not smooth, and a bit jumpy.

Increasing, indirect light conditions    -    “Morning Show    (5fps)”
This camera also seems to have some difficulty adjusting to the change in focus and light intensity, as light conditions increase.
Such that, the Time Lapse produced is not smooth, and jumps in a more pronounced way, though less number of times, than when light conditions decrease.

Decreasing  vs  Increasing indirect light conditions
So, I would say that, this camera can cope a bit better with decreasing, rather than increasing, indirect light conditions.

Light Quality
However, I was very impressed by the quality of light captured overall, in particular, in the lower light conditions.

A Time Lapse capturing the opposite air flows,
Upper level, West to East, and,
Lower level, East to West,
as seen in the cloud movements
just after sunrise.
Top of frame is West.
Bottom of frame is East.

TL 1-4 YouTube Video - "Rain Clouds Over Coogee"

Using the Camera –
Panasonic Lumix    DMC - FT30    Automatic Digital Compact

Objective 1
-  To take a    360 frame    Time Lapse,    over    1 hour.
Objective 2
-  To minimise the foreground and any action there,
in order to focus on the sky.
Objective 3
-  To record    1/2 hour before,    and    1/2 hour after,
the expected zenith of the Total Solar Eclipse
occuring at Exmouth, in Western Australia, Australia,
   at    13 : 29 : 23    hours,    Sydney, Australia    time.

A Time Lapse,
taken during the
Total Solar Eclipse,
which was occurring
in Exmouth, Western Australia,
a few thousand miles / kilometers
away  (from Sydney, Australia).

RESULTS
Objective 1
-  A    360 frame    Time Lapse,    over    1 hour    was achieved.
Objective 2
-  It is very difficult finding a place where no people will be walking around in the foreground.
-  I did minimise the amount of foreground, and maximised the amount of sky.
Objective 3
-  The expected time frame for recording was achieved.
-  I positioned the camera so that the sun was about 3/4  the way up,
and towards the Right of Frame,
   at the start of recording.
It was visible behind the clouds before I started to record.
It moved to the Left during recording, behind the clouds.

Observations
-  The cloud movement was quite interesting.
-  There definitely was a darker phase to the daylight for the first    1/3    of the    Time Lapse,
which I would attribute to the shadow from the eclipse.
The daylight returned to a lighter aspect after this phase.

Using the Camera -
Panasonic Lumix DMC - FT30 Automatic Digital Compact

Objective 1
-  To do a Time Lapse Video,
of Frame Rate    360 frames,    at 10 second intervals,    over 1 hour real time.
Objective 2
-  To find out how long this camera's battery lasts.
Objective 3
-  To find out how well this camera can adjust to the change in reflected sunset light,
(pointed East, away from the sun)
to make a smooth Time Lapse.
Objective 4
-  To find out how far this camera can function in decreasing light.

VIDEO RUNNING TIME

Effectively, these 2 Time Lapses cover the periods of -
- 55 minutes up until the actual sunset, and,
- 55 minutes after the actual sunset

RESULTS
Objective 1
- I was able to film one complete Time Lapse
of Frame Rate 360 frames, at 10 second intervals, over 1 hour real time.
Objective 2
- I started the first Time Lapse with a fully charged battery.
The battery ran out after filming 1 and 2/3 Time Lapses.
Objective 3
- There is a little bit of adjusting that can be seen over the length of the videos,
so they are not seamless Time Lapses.
But, it was better than I expected.
Objective 4
- Once the light faded from the sky from the sunset,
and here I was facing the camera away from the sunset, so it was only getting reflected light,
the camera also could only generally see darkness.
Though, it was able to pick up a reflected glow on the rocks from an orange street light
behind it.
